정영민목사는  2005년도에 하나님께서 선교의 마음을 주셔서 한국에서 캐나다로 사역지를 옮겼습니다.

이제 2024년은 캐나다 밴쿠버에서 캄보디아와 베트남으로….

하나님의 부르심에 어떻게 응답할 것인가?

정영민 목사는 목회자의 자녀로 자라왔고, 목사가 되었습니다. 충주에서 충주시 학생 연합 찬양팀(17개 찬양팀)을 8년간(1997~2004) 지도했습니다. 이 기간중에 하나님께서 선교의 마음을 주셔서 팔레스타인에 단기선교를 갔습니다. 그곳에서 하나님의 다양한 민족의 사람들을 만났습니다. 팔레스타인 단기선교를 다녀온 후, 바로 캐나다 밴쿠버로 유학을 가게 되었습니다.

다양한 민족의 사람들에게 복음을 전하기 위해 영어를 배우러 밴쿠버에 유학을 갔는데, 그곳에서 일본 사람들을 만나게 됩니다. 2005년부터 2023년까지 밴쿠버에 유학온 일본학생들을 대상으로 복음전도집회인 가스펠나잇(Gospel Night)을 18년 동안 하게 되었습니다.

정영민 목사는 2023년 2월 어머니의 소천을 통해 또다른 하나님의 부르심에 응답하게 됩니다. 하나님께서 밴쿠버에서 40일 작정기도를 통해 익숙함으로 떠날 마음을 주셨습니다. 정영민 목사는 밴쿠버를 떠나 캄보디아와 베트남으로 갔습니다.

그곳에서 약 40일동안 캄보디아와 베트남에 머물면서 Gemmission에 비전을 받게 됩니다. 한국에 돌아와 Mission Report를 통해 지구촌초대선교회를 조직합니다. 지구촌 초대선교회를 통해 선교현장과 교회를 연결하여 효율적인 선교에 노력하고 있습니다.

How will you respond to God’s calling?

Pastor Youngmin Jeong grew up as a pastor’s son and followed the same calling to become a pastor himself. From 1997 to 2004, he led the Chungju City Student Worship Team in Korea, coordinating 17 praise teams across the region. During this time, God placed a heart for missions in him, and he joined a short-term mission trip to Palestine. There, he encountered people from diverse nations and cultures.

After returning from Palestine, he soon went to Vancouver, Canada, to study—motivated by a desire to preach the gospel to people of various nations and to learn English. While in Vancouver, he met Japanese students and began reaching out to them with the gospel.

From 2005 to 2023, he held a monthly evangelistic gathering called Gospel Night for Japanese students studying in Vancouver—a ministry that continued for 18 years.

In February 2023, after his mother passed away, Pastor Jung sensed a new calling from God. Through a 40-day season of focused prayer in Vancouver, God stirred his heart to leave the familiar behind. Obeying this call, he left Vancouver and traveled to Cambodia and Vietnam.

During a 40-day stay in Cambodia and Vietnam, God gave him a vision for GEM Mission. After returning to Korea, he organized a Mission Report, and from that, founded the Global Early Mission (GEM).

Through GEM, Pastor Jeong is working to bridge the mission field and local churches—empowering churches to engage in missions more effectively and strategically.
